Petals

Petals are performance categories in the Living Building Challenge. This project documented three petals: Materials, Place, and Equity. Within each petal is a set of imperatives, requirements that must be met to achieve the petal. The imperatives and strategies employed are described below.

Materials Petal

The Materials Petal is a stringent set of criteria aimed to provide better health for building occupants plus everyone that deals with the project materials during their life-cycle. It also encourages teams to find local and salvaged materials to reduce the embodied carbon of the project.
